A Scotch bonnet type. Jamaican Hot Red is a compact plant with very dense foliage. The plant can produce in excess of fifty fruits which mature from a lime green to a dark rich red. The pods have a distinctive fruity flavor of apples, apricots and a hint of citrus all rolled into one and are a firm favorite in the Caribbean for the famous hot sauces.
