Description
The Crane Melon is a variety that was developed in the early 1900s in Santa Rosa, California, by Oliver Crane. The Crane melon is slightly pear shaped with a gently tapering end. Fruits are about 1.5-2 kg. Its exterior is a pale dusty green color with dark green blotches that become a rusty orange when fully ripe. The orange flesh is very firm. The Crane melon is highly aromatic and exceptionally sweet with notes of honey, rose and orange blossom.
